CV Weekly Holiday Schedule
CV Weekly will be closed on Monday, Dec. 26 and Monday, Jan. 2 for the Christmas and New Year holidays.
Extensive Work Planned for 210 Freeway
Caltrans engineers and construction units have been working to change some things on the EB 210 Lowell Avenue on-ramp. They will be adding arrows and restriping the area to alert motorists of the new merge pattern. Extra signs are up and plans to move forward for this new design have been approved. The k-rail in this area will be removed sometime before summer. The design of the merges in the area will continue until summer 2017.
Starting Jan. 3 there will be 45 consecutive days of 210 Freeway eastbound on- and off-ramp closures at Pennsylvania Avenue. This date is subject to change. The County is investigating traffic signal modifications in relation to the 210 closures. They will take requests from citizens for areas to look at. Visit http://tinyurl.com/hptxgfy to offer input.
Beware of Scams
Local businesses have reported receiving a scam surrounding Southern California Edison. A business owner said that he received a call from someone reputing to be from SCE stating he was delinquent in paying his electric bill and the business’ power would be shut off in 40 minutes. The caller instructed the owners to call (800) 519-7909 Ext. 1000 to make a payment. This is a phony number according to SCE.
SCE told him it is aware of the scam in progress in the area and the phone number above is not an SCE phone number.
