DIVISION 4, OF THE FOOTHILL MUNICIPAL WATER DISTRICT
AND INTENT TO FILL VACANCY BY APPOINTMENT
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN of a vacancy on the Board of
Directors for Division 4 of the Foothill Municipal Water District
(herein “District” or “Foothill”), as of February 1, 2026. The term
of such vacated offi ce is through December 2026. The next
election to fi ll the offi ce is scheduled for the general election
November 3, 2026.
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN of the intent of the existing District
Board members to fi ll such vacancy by April 2, 2026. Those
persons interested in fi lling such vacancy should submit a letter

The letter of interest should be submitted to the above address
by interested persons no later than February 17, 2026. The
Board will consider the qualifi cations of the applicants, interview
applicants and will appoint the Division 4 Director at its future
Board meeting.
The District was formed on January 7, 1952, pursuant to the
Municipal Water District Act of 1911 (Cal. Water Code §§ 71000,
et seq.), to help meet the increased water needs of the growing
foothill communities. Pursuant to a vote of the electorate, Foothill
offi cially joined Metropolitan
Water District of Southern California (MWD) in 1953 and is one of
its 26 member agencies. Foothill covers about 22 square miles in
the foothills of the San Gabriel Mountains, bordered between the
Pasadena on the east and the Glendale on the south and west.
The District serves
approximately 80,000 people through its own member agencies.
Foothill takes delivery of water from MWD at a connection and
must pump up into the service area to deliver to its member
agencies. Before reaching Foothill, MWD treats the imported
water to drinking water quality standards. The District’s purposes
and activities include, but are not limited to, reliably delivering
quality water to its member agencies in a cost-effi cient manner
to meet their projected demands.
The fi ve members of the Board of Directors are elected and
receive $150.54 for each day’s attendance at meetings of the
Board and committees thereof, and for days’ service rendered
as director by request of the Board, not exceeding a total of
ten days in any calendar month. The Board meets on the third
Monday of the month, at 3:00 p.m. at 4536 Hampton Rd., La
Canada Flintridge, California 91011.
To be eligible for Board membership, a candidate must be
eighteen years of age, a
registered voter in the County of Los Angeles and a legal resident
of Division 4 of the District.
This notice is being posted in the District pursuant to Section
1780 of the Government Code, at least fi fteen days before the
appointment is made.
