The scenic mountain railway began its journey in Altadena and terminated at the base of Mount Lowe, offering “supremely fascinating and grand” views according to a Pacific Electric Railway brochure written in 1905. It was an engineering feat of its time, navigating tight turns along canyon walls and in places making its way up a 62% incline. SoCal historian Wally Schidler will introduce “To Mount Lowe with Love,” a film chronicling the history of the railway.
