As we close out the year, we would like to inform residents that there will not be a general meeting in December. The council will take a hiatus for the month allowing members to regroup and prepare for the upcoming year.
We are pleased to announce that the newly-elected council members Dede Mueller, Chris Kilpatrick and myself will each serve three-year terms. The official swearing-in ceremony will take place on Thursday, Jan. 16 at 7 p.m. during our general meeting, which will be held at the La Crescenta Library. This event marks an important step for our council as we look forward to serving our community.
I want to highlight the recent 10th Annual Christmas Tree Lighting event at the La Crescenta Library that Dede Mueller spearheaded. With the assistance of Donna Libra, Kerri Bräutigam and myself, we managed the outdoor portion of the event. Inside, Head Librarian Marta Wiggins and the Friends of the Library added special touches that enhanced the festive atmosphere. There was a string quartet that played holiday music before the program started, the Charismatics from CVHS performed beautifully and Supervisor Kathryn Barger was in attendance, making it a wonderful kickoff to the holiday season. The community in attendance seemed to enjoy the event very much.
We also participated in the Montrose Glendale Christmas Parade where we rode in a car beautifully decorated by our very own Kerri Bräutigam, as Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer. It was a fun experience for all involved.
As the holiday season approaches the council wishes everyone a happy and joyful time filled with warmth and connection. We also extend our best wishes for a healthy and prosperous new year. Thank you for your continued support and we look forward to reconnecting in January.
