John Evan Borrowman, 64, passed away March 6 near his home in Las Vegas, Nev.

Born Sept. 22, 1948 in Los Angeles, John was the son of La Cañada teacher Kathleen Seiler and Evan Borrowman.

He is survived by sons Joshua and Jordan Borrowman; grandson Klayton; stepfather Bob Seiler; sisters Kathleen (Jim) Mack and Susan (Antoon) Woudenberg.

Following graduation from Verdugo Hills High School, John served in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War. An avid musician, John also taught music at Trinity Christian School in Sunland, gave private music lessons, and performed as a member of several area bands including Color Sounds, The Philharmonic, and Church on the Way’s Jericho.

A memorial service will be held April 13 at 1 p.m. at River of Life Christian Center, 2212 Magnolia Blvd., Burbank (Sunset Screening Rooms).
