Caroling in Adams Square Mini-Park

On Saturday, Dec. 14 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., the Adams Hill Neighborhood Association will sponsor community caroling and a visit from Santa Claus in the Adams Square mini park, 1020 E. Palmer Ave. Light refreshments will be served. Street parking is limited and all visitors are encouraged to walk or rideshare to the mini park.



Rosemont Preserve Restoration Day

The community is invited to the Rosemont Preserve Restoration Day on Saturday, Dec. 14 from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. to help protect the natural habitat at Rosemont Preserve. Volunteers will be removing invasive, non native plants and cleaning up the trails for upcoming field trips.

Wear sturdy shoes, comfortable clothes and garden gloves (long pants and sleeves are recommended). Tools will be available.

Fire Restrictions Lifted

A newly signed forest order will once again allow forest visitors to use campfires and stove fires within designated campgrounds and picnic areas where steel fire rings and stoves are provided.

Persons with a valid California Campfire Permit may use a portable lantern or stove using jellied petroleum, or pressurized liquid fuel outside developed areas.

Free Flu Shots at USC-VHH

Flintridge Pharmacy will be conducting a free flu shot clinic on Saturday, Dec. 14 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the hospital. Reservations are required; call the pharmacy at (818) 790-1802.

Artists Opportunities/Call for Performers

The Glendale Arts and Culture Commission invites new and established artists and performance groups of three or more performers to apply for a spot in its 2020 performance series. The Commission will host a variety of performance experiences every Friday at 7 p.m. from June through August 2020 at the Brand Library & Art Center Outdoor Plaza, and every Saturday in October 2020 at the Artsakh Paseo.

The City of Glendale’s Performance Series, now in its sixth year, provides a free cultural asset to residents and attracts visitors to experience arts and cultural opportunities. This program has been designed to support various arts organizations and to bring distinguished cultural programming to Glendale.
