500 block of Foothill Boulevard in La Cañada, an employee of Ralphs was collecting shopping carts in the store’s parking lot when she witnessed a man described as Armenian, in his 30s, about 6’ tall and weighing 200 pounds exit the store carrying a handheld shopping basket full of grocery items. A dark colored four-door sedan picked the man up in front of the store and drove away. A surveillance video showed the described man taking several liquor bottles and placing them into the plastic basket. The incident occurred on Dec. 8 at 6:21 p.m.

3000 block of Foothill Boulevard in La Crescenta, someone stole an iPod and portable speakers from a Christmas tree lot overnight.

4400 block of Rosemont Avenue in La Crescenta, a 35-year-old Tujunga woman was arrested of petty theft after deputies received a call regarding a witness seeing the woman take a bag of mail from a home. When deputies found her they asked if she had taken the mail, she reportedly told them she had picked up the mail for a friend who owned the house however after an investigation it was discovered the homeowner had no knowledge of the woman. It was also found the woman was on probation for Grand Theft. The incident occurred at 3:15 p.m.

7300 block of Foothill in Tujunga, a 31-year-old Palmdale man was arrested for suspicion of a controlled substance and possession of narcotics paraphernalia after deputies stopped him walking along the sidewalk after midnight. They asked him if he had used any type of narcotics, he reportedly told them he used meth and that he had a meth pipe in his pocket. He allegedly admitted he had methamphetamine on his person and handed a baggie of a white crystalline substance to the deputy. He was arrested at 12:13 a.m.
