Helicopters are flying over a La Crescenta neighborhood after a bear was sighted in the area. According to the CV Sheriff’s Station, a rather large bear has been treed in the 5000 block of Humphrey Way.  A Fish & Wildlife game warden is on scene. He is waiting for darkness to fall with the hope that the bear will come down and can be herded back into the forest.
Fish & Wildlife is concerned that because of the size of the bear if it is darted and the animal falls from the tree it could be seriously injured or die. It is thought that because so many people are in the area, the bear became frightened and took refuge in the tree in the backyard of a home.
