The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Dept. at Crescenta Valley is investigating the assault of a male juvenile by a female juvenile, both who attend CV High School.
The incident occurred at 12:30 p.m. on May 30 in the 2600 block of Foothill Boulevard. According to witnesses, the female used a box cutter-type weapon and attacked a male student.
What incited the attack is still under investigation. According to LASD, after the attack the male student went back to school and was treated by the school health clerk. The boy refused any additional medical treatment, and no other treatment appeared necessary.
Glendale Unified School District is also investigating.
“We did receive reports. We did investigate, and there was discipline. When serious criminal allegations come forward, we involve our SRO [School Resource Officer] and sheriffs [department]. From that point there are two parallel investigations. Law enforcement takes the steps they deem appropriate while we work with the district and family on school discipline. Serious criminal acts commonly result in suspension and expulsion hearings on the school side, and arrests with court appearances on the law enforcement side,” according to CVHS Principal Linda Junge.
The female student may be charged with assault. Due to the age of both the victim and the female student, no further information was available.
