The 7th bi-annual DEA sponsored Drug Take Back event took place on Saturday. There were seven locations for people to drop off unwanted pharmaceuticals in Glendale, Montrose, La Crescenta and La Cañada, coordinated by Glendale police Officer Joe Allen with officers from Glendale Police Dept., Glendale City College Police Dept., and personnel from CV Sheriff’s Station. Volunteers also came from the YMCA of the Foothills and CV Alliance. There were a total of 29 boxes collected weighing several hundred pounds in total.

“This was another successful year in taking large quantities of dangerous prescription drugs out of people’s homes and out of the reach of children and teens in our community,” stated Tahnee Lightfoot, GPD spokeswoman.
