Reckless Driver Arrested – Motorcycle Impounded

On April 13 at approximately 2:30 p.m., a Glendale police officer observed a motorcycle on Foothill Boulevard approaching Lowell Avenue traveling at a high rate of speed (estimated to be in excess of 75 MPH) and splitting lanes. It should be noted that the posted speed limit on this section of Foothill is 40 MPH.
The motorcyclist, later identified as 29-year-old Jon Blizzard of Tujunga, was pulled over and admitted to police that he was traveling around 80-85 MPH. Blizzard was arrested for reckless driving and his motorcycle was impounded.
The Glendale Police Dept. reminds the public to monitor speed when driving and to obey the posted speed limits and encourages people to remain home to help prevent the spread of COVID-19. Engaging in non-essential activities exposes households to unnecessary risks of spreading infection.
Officers will continue to proactively patrol the city, enforce laws, respond to calls for service and protect the community.
