March 26
2900 block of Highridge Street in La Crescenta, a 2000 two-door white Ford Ranger was stolen at about 10:55 p.m.

March 25
2500 block of Fairway Avenue in Montrose, a purse was stolen from the front seat of an unlocked vehicle. The owner of the vehicle had been unloading items and had left both the rear passenger side door and trunk open for about 30 minutes. When she returned the purse was stolen between 5 p.m. and 5:30 p.m.

March 24
2300 block of Del Mar Road in Montrose, a 2004 red Nissan Frontier pick up truck with several L.A. Times newspapers inside the vehicle were stolen. The driver reported that as he was delivering papers he got out of the vehicle to drop papers at the location. He left the vehicle’s keys in the ignition and the engine was running. When he was walking back to the vehicle after the delivery he saw someone enter the truck.
“He just jumped in and took off,” the victim told sheriff’s deputies. The incident occurred at 3:30 p.m.

900 block of Foothill Boulevard in La Cañada, a wallet was stolen from a woman’s purse that was placed in the child’s seat in a cart at Sprouts market between 3 p.m .and 3:30 p.m.

March 23
500 block of Foothill Boulevard in La Cañada, a wallet was stolen from a purse that was placed in a shopping cart while a woman was shopping at Ralphs market between 1:30 p.m. and 1:40 p.m.

March 22
3000 block of Foothill Boulevard in La Crescenta, a 59-year-old Los Angeles woman was arrested for burglary and being in possession of burglary tools at Office Depot. An employee reported witnessing the woman place an item, later identified as an external hard drive, in her purse. He also noticed the purse appeared to have silver tape on the bottom, which he recognized as a possible booster bag (a bag designed to help eliminate detection of items that would normally set off an alarm). The employee reported that he approached the woman and asked what she had in her purse. She threw the purse at him and fled. He stopped her before she left the building. The suspect continued to try to get away, the employee and suspect struggled. The suspect calmed down and waited for the deputies to arrive. The incident occurred at 2:11 p.m.

4600 Oak Grove Drive in La Cañada, a woman’s backpack/purse was stolen from the front seat of her unlocked vehicle while it was parked at the Flintridge Riding Club between 1 p.m. and 2 p.m.

March 21
2600 block of Foothill Boulevard in La Crescenta, an 18-year-old La Cañada man was arrested for stealing a bottle of liquor from Rite Aid. Deputies responded to a call concerning two suspicious persons who had been escorted out of Ralphs market by the manager. The two left the store, but not the area. Deputies patrolled the area and after an investigation found the La Cañada man to be in possession of the bottle of liquor that he allegedly told deputies he had stolen from Rite Aid. The incident occurred at 11:40 a.m.

400 block of Foothill Boulevard in La Cañada, a purse was stolen from a shopping cart while the owner was shopping at Trader Joe’s market at 12:45 pm.
