Shark Tooth Hill

Boy Scout Troop 319 recently returned from an amazing trek out to The Ernst Quarries, which is located east of Bakersfield and a stone’s throw north of the Kern River.

Each Scout transformed into a budding young paleontologist as they sifted sand searching for 15 million-year-old sharks’ teeth and bone fragments. Everyone came home with a few gems to share with friends and family who could not make the trip.

It was a fantastic outing and yet another exposure for the Scouts into a world that otherwise they would never get to experience. As always they had copies of their CV Weekly along to read around the campfire!
