Scam Stopper Meeting
Assemblymember Laura Friedman is hosting a town hall meeting in partnership with the Glendale Police Dept., the California Contractors State License Board and the Bureau of Medi-Cal Fraud and Elder Abuse on fraud prevention.
It will be held today, Thursday, March 14 at 7 p.m. at the Glendale Police Dept., 131 N. Isabel St. in Glendale. Free to attend.
St. Paddy’s Day Bingo
On Saturday, March 16 the American Legion Post 288 will have its annual Saint Patrick’s Day Youth Fundraiser
at the Verdugo Hills Memorial Hall at 4011 La Crescenta Ave. This bingo event is a fundraiser for the Post to raise funds to support local youth groups.
Among the youth groups supported by the Post are Cub Scout Pack 360, Boy Scout Troop 288 & Venture Crew,
CVHS Jr. ROTC, Prom Plus, Fire House, Boys State Candidates from CV and Clark Magnet high schools, and the Rosemont Middle School Academic Awards. Although seating is limited for the bingo there is no limit on tickets available for purchase for the 50/50 drawing.
Sponsorships for the bingo games are also available for those community members who want to participate on a higher level.

Friedman Recognizes La Cañada Woman
As part of the California State Assembly’s celebration of Women’s History Month, Assemblymember Laura Friedman recognized Mayor Terry Walker of La Cañada Flintridge as the 43rd Assembly District’s Woman of the Year.
Walker is a native of Southern California, and has been a resident and active member of the La Cañada Flintridge community for the past 34 years.
Rosemont Preserve Open Gate Afternoon
Two “open gate” events take place at the Rosemont Preserve on Saturday, March 16 and Sunday, March 17. This is a chance for residents to visit the Preserve and wander the trail at their own pace and enjoy the tranquil setting, the wildlife and the natural beauty. Photographers: bring your camera to capture the natural light and citizen scientists, bring your iNaturalist app to add your wildlife sightings!
The gate on Saturday will be open from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and on Sunday from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. and professionals will be available to answer questions and present this community resource.
The Preserve is located at the north end of Rosemont Avenue, just past the chain link fence. As street parking is limited, please park at Two Strike Park, 5107 Rosemont Ave. Those planning on walking the trails should wear sturdy shoes.
This event is free to the public and suitable for all ages; no reservations required. Rain cancels. Sorry, no pets please.
