Summer Music Camp Concert Announced
Students in the summer music camp received their instruments at the beginning of the summer camp. There are three new flute players, two new clarinet players, six new violin players, three new viola players and two new cello players. The second year students are helping the new students and preparing more advanced music.
The students will present a concert on Friday, July 8 at 7 p.m. in the auditorium of the Roosevelt Middle School located at 222 E. Acacia Ave. in Glendale. Donations will be accepted at the door.
Donors from around the Los Angeles area and as far away as Texas have contributed instruments that have been fully refurbished for use by the students. Anyone who has an instrument that is no longer being used can donate it to the program.
Since fundraising efforts have yielded less than expected returns, donations of any amount are requested. Donations of $50 or less can be made on the website www.mycyo.org. To make a larger donation, contact Dave@mycyo.org. This helps to avoid processing fees. Donations will also be accepted at the door for the concert on July 8.
