La Cañada resident Meghan Fitzpatrick, a senior at Flintridge Sacred Heart Academy, received the Most Outstanding Senior award from the Interscholastic Equestrian League at the group’s year-end banquet in May.
In addition to the award, she received a check for $3,000 to go toward her college education. Fitzpatrick, who served as president of the California Scholastic Federation at FSHA, will attend Georgetown University in the fall.
“Meghan was chosen unanimously by the IEL committee for the award. During the ceremony, they talked about what she has accomplished in riding and with her life. I could not have been more proud,” said her mother Elizabeth Mozilo Fitzpatrick.
Over 80 schools are represented within the league, with more than 250 riders competing each year.
