GLENDALE BRANCH AAUW PLAN MEETING
The Glendale Branch of the American Association of University Women (AAUW) will meet virtually on Saturday, Nov. 13 at 10 a.m. via Zoom.

Prior to the meeting, Michelle Jocson, Stroke Program manager of the Comprehensive Stroke Center at the Neuroscience Institute at Adventist Health Glendale, will present “Stroke Recognition and Latest Treatments.”
This presentation is coordinated by the Live Well Senior Program (LWSP) at Adventist Health Glendale. LWSP is a community-based wellness program for seniors (60-plus). Membership is free and offers access to online fitness classes, educational programs, games, and social events for seniors. LWSP hosts activities each week.

ENGLISH CHAMBER MUSIC
The Caltech Orchestra, with conductor Glenn D. Price, presents An Afternoon of English Chamber Music on Nov. 14. The concert will be at 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. in the Caltech Ramo Auditorium, 1200 E California Blvd. in Pasadena.

WINE TASTING BENEFITS USC-VHH
USC-VHH Women’s Council will host a live wine tasting to raise funds for the interventional radiology/cardiac catheterization lab under construction at the hospital. The event is on Friday, Nov. 19 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. and
the cost is $40 per person.
The wine tasting takes place at on the USC-VHH patio at 1812 Verdugo Blvd.

BURBANK AFRICAN VIOLET SOCIETY PLANS MEETING
The Burbank African Violet Society’s next monthly meeting will be on Thursday morning, Nov. 18
at 10 a.m. at The Little White Chapel Christian Church, 1711 No. Avon St. in Burbank.
The program will be presented by guest speaker Jeff Rosenbach and the title is “The Japanese Art of Flower Arranging.” Questions and answers will follow.

LCFOG PLANS DINE-OUT
The La Cañada Flintridge Orthopaedic Guild is having a dine-out fundraiser on Thursday, Nov. 18 from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. at LC Imports, 1537 Foothill Blvd. in La Cañada Flintridge. Funds raised will support LCFOG, which provides financial support to the Orthopaedic Institute for Children in downtown Los Angeles.

FLINTRIDGE BOOKSTORE PLANS FOR SMALL BUSINESS SATURDAY
On Saturday, Nov. 27 from 10:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. (weather-permitting), Flintridge Bookstore hosts special events for Small Business Saturday including author meet and greets and book signings, poetry readings, guest artists and more. To keep everyone as safe as possible during COVID times, most of Flintridge Bookstore’s activities are outside this year, but the doors are also open for in-store shopping. Masks are required inside.

VHHS PLANS REUNION
“Team 74” is planning a 50th high school reunion in 2024. Friends and graduates of Verdugo Hills High School are invited to attend to trade stories of family, careers, adventures and anything else.
Currently Team 74 is in the planning phase of collecting names and numbers of classmates and putting together a database; emails from classmates can be received at clsof74reunion@yahoo.com. Information should include a mailing address, cell number and graduate’s name at graduation (if different than now).
A list of frequently asked questions will be provided to keep everyone updated aAs the reunion plans move forward. Those who belong to various VHHS groups will see redundant information to ensure all classmates are notified and have an opportunity to attend.
At this time the FB VHHS groups will be the reunion information outlet until a more focused site is created.
