SBA Los Angeles District Office is in Glendale

Did you know that the SBA Los Angeles District office is in Glendale? It is located at 330 N. Brand, Suite 1200 in Glendale. The LADO is an invaluable resource to anyone owning a small business. Since its founding on July 30, 1953 in the U.S., the Small Business Administration has delivered millions of loans, loan guarantees, contracts, counseling sessions and other forms of assistance to small businesses. The SBA provides assistance primarily through its four basic programs: Access to Capital (business financing), Entrepreneurial Development (free education, information, technical assistance & training), Government Contracting (federal procurement), and Advocacy (voice for small business) by reviewing Congressional legislation and testifying on behalf of small business.

Here is what the LADO has to say about themselves: “LADO is proud of its fiscal 2012 record of achievement, ranking as the number one lending market in the nation. LADO also led all SBA offices nationwide in financing 2,465 businesses with more than $1.5 billion. LADO is also first in lending nationally to minority and women-owned businesses, and active in government contracting – helping with billions in contract opportunities during the last three years. The Los Angeles District Office is a full-service financing office offering microloans, 7(a), 504, CAPLines, Community Advantage, Export Working Capital, and SBA Express Programs. Technical assistance is readily available through an extensive network of three SCORE chapters, four Women Business Centers and nine Small Business Development Centers.”

Pretty impressive! And this office is right in our backyard. On their website you can find an SBA lender, learn about events and workshops to help you grow your business, sign up to receive updates from the SBA, get information about business mentoring and counseling, download their 60-page resource guide and so much more. Log onto their website at www.sba.gov to find out more about the SBA and how they can help you. The U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) Los Angeles District Office (LADO) serves Los Angeles, Santa Barbara, and Ventura counties, which have a combined population base of 11 million residents. If this area were a state, it would rank as the eighth most populous state in the Union. This tri-county service area is the nation’s top international trade and manufacturing center. There is a diverse economic base with trade, tourism, entertainment, technology and financial services leading the way. The ports of Long Beach and Los Angeles are the busiest in the country, and L.A. vies each year with Chicago for the number one ranking in manufacturing output.
