If you enjoy playing golf, or are bad at games, then you’re in luck! Our Scholarship Golf Tournament at the Verdugo Hills Golf Course is this Saturday, July 9 at 7:30 am. For only $40, you can play golf, have lunch and help raise money for scholarships for local high school students. Every year, we give scholarships to four worthy high school students to help with their college expenses and this golf tournament helps to make this possible. In addition, there will be a raffle drawing for prizes and even a hole-in-one contest sponsored by Crescenta Valley Insurance, where you can win $5,000! Our monthly business mixer is being held at BIS Computer Solutions on Wednesday, July 13 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. This is a great way to network, promote yourself and support a local business. As usual, there will be entertainment, refreshments and raffle prizes.
If you want an easy way to give back to the community and beautify our city, come to the off ramp cleanup on Saturday, July 16 at 8:30 a.m. This will take place on the off ramp of the Foothill 210 Freeway at La Crescenta Avenue. This gesture will be appreciated by not only the citizens of La Crescenta, but also the planet!
Another day you can help the environment is on Saturday, July 23 with our e-waste recycling event. You finally have a safe place to recycle those old computers, televisions, monitors, printers, fax machines, copiers and other electronics that are old relics sitting in the back corners of your garage. Global e-Recyclers, Inc. is organizing this event. Bring your items to the chamber office parking lot at Palms Plaza, 3131 Foothill Blvd., La Crescenta on Saturday, July 23 from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Global e-Recyclers, Inc. will make sure your e-waste is properly handled, disposed of and recycled. They also include identity theft protection via data destruction of your hard drives. This is a free event and an easy way to help make our planet happy!
