The Patrons Club of Glendale Community College continued its tradition of raising for scholarships with its annual fashion show and luncheon held recently at the Castaways in Burbank. Holiday Hats and Gowns of Montrose provided the ladies’ fashions and handsome escorts wore tuxedos from the Men’s Wearhouse.
Patrons President Betty Musacco welcomed the ballroom full of Glendale Community College supporters. Marianne Jennings chaired the silent auction and presented a wide choice of prizes. Former college president Dr. John Davitt was in attendance with his wife Gael who performed modeling duty along with students Gertrude Ness, a luncheon favorite who is 105 years young!
Current college superintendent/president Dr. Dawn Lindsey thanked the Patrons for their donations over the last years that amounted to $25,000, raised mostly from the annual fashion show and luncheon. The funds are earmarked for financial aid for talented students who might otherwise not be able to attain a college education.
Event attendees included Ellie Pipes and friends including Shirley
Nute, Margaret Dickson who assisted Jennings with the luncheon.
The Assistance League of Glendale was also well represented as was the La Crescenta Woman’s Club.
