Las Candelas’ Tropical Breezes Summer Party was held on Sunday, Sept. 8 at the Oakmont Country Club. Honored was the club’s past president Monica Sierra and president-elect Jeannie Flint.

The chairmen of the event were Diane Russell and Bobbi Gangi, with assistance from Marilyn Butler.

The reception started at 5 p.m.  A no host bar was available with hors d’oeuves passed. Dinner and wine were served by the Oakmont’s attentive dining staff.

Attending were 68 members and their husbands of Las Candelas wearing appropriate tropical breezes attire.

Celebrating this day was the beginning of another year of service for Las Candelas providing help to Hillsides Education Center, Hathaway-Sycamores, Didi Hirsch Mental Health Services, YWCA and Glendale Healthy Kids.

Las Candelas had two provisional members attending the event: Cindy and Bill Martin and Alice and Ed Abramian.
