Glendale Memorial Hospital Awards Nearly $130,000 to Six Nonprofit Organizations

Glendale Memorial Hospital and Health Center (GMHHC) recently awarded nearly $130,000 in community grants to six nonprofits in the greater Los Angeles area that work to provide Glendale and its neighboring communities with critical health and human services.

Grants are awarded through Dignity Health’s Community Health Improvement Grants program, supporting non-profit organizations whose efforts aid in building healthier communities.

“Partnering with local nonprofits who share our vision and mission of improving the health of the people we serve, especially those who are vulnerable, is essential to the well-being of our community,” said Jill Welton, GMHHC president. “Collectively, our efforts will have a significant impact in the lives of the most underserved populations in the area.”

Organizations selected to receive 2023 Dignity Health Community Grants include:

Door of Hope | Awarded $23,500 ­– Grant supports Door of Hope’s Mental Health Program and Life Skills Classes for women survivors of domestic abuse.

Kids’ Community Dental Clinic | Awarded $23,500 – Grant supports KCDC’s education programs, prevention programs, and access to dental care for children in the greater Glendale community.

Ascencia | Awarded $20,000 – Grant supports Ascencia’s permanent supportive housing program, which includes primary care and housing retention services, utilizing a trauma-informed approach.

Catholic Charities of Los Angeles | Awarded $20,000 – Grant supports the Glendale Community Center’s Living Well Program, which is committed to increasing the quality of life for seniors by helping to reduce food insecurity and decreasing the impact of COVID-19.

Coalition to Abolish Slavery and Trafficking (CAST) | Awarded $20,000 – Grant will provide funding for housing assistance and support services to survivors of human trafficking in Los Angeles County.

Home Again Los Angeles | Awarded $20,000 – Grant supports HALA’s Resource Center, which provides access to resources and programs that lead to housing, economic and employment stability for homeless families and those at-risk of homelessness located in Glendale.
