Crescenta Valley Sheriff’s Station deputies arrested three men, two juveniles and one adult for allegedly walking out of Foster Donuts without paying for items they had taken.

Deputies responded to Fosters Donuts in the 2600 block of Foothill Boulevard after an employee reported that three boys entered the store and allegedly stole drinks.

The employee reportedly told deputies that three boys came into the store at 5 p.m. and asked her for the price of a bowl of soup. While she was occupied with one of the suspects she noticed another suspect went to get a can of tea and another suspect grabbed another cold drink. They walked out of the store. The employee followed them and asked them to pay for the items taken. They were belligerent and continued to their vehicle. When she continued to insist they pay, one of the suspects returned a can that had been taken but the other one continued to be belligerent.

The employee contacted the sheriff’s station. They responded and found the suspects in their vehicle in the store’s parking lot.

Marc Buckland, 21, of La Cañada Flintridge and a 17-year-old from Burbank and a 15-year-old from Los Angeles were arrested. Deputies reportedly discovered the 15-year-old holding the allegedly stolen store item in the vehicle. Deputies also discovered pills thought to be Ecstasy in the vehicle as well.

The 15-year-old was arrested for robbery and suspicion of possession of a narcotic and giving false identification to a peace officer.

The 17-year-old was arrested for driving under the influence. Buckland and the 17-year-old were arrested on suspicion of possession of a narcotic.

The Crescenta Valley Sheriff’s Station has received reports of more than twenty-five window smash vehicle burglaries since the beginning of 2010. Similar burglaries were also reported in the latter half of 2009. The suspects targeted locked vehicles with small valuables (purses, laptop computers, backpacks, etc.) left in plain view. Most of the burglaries occurred in parking lots along Foothill Boulevard, in both La Canada and La Crescenta, during the early evening hours.

Today, Tuesday, Crescenta Valley Sheriff’s Station detectives served a search warrant in the 10000 block of Helendale Avenue in Tujunga as part of this investigation. Tony Davis, 30, and Krisi Jackson, 27, both from Tujunga were arrested at the residence. Evidence and stolen property were seized linking the suspects to several of the recent burglaries. The suspects are believed to have committed burglaries in other foothill communities.

Detectives are working with neighboring police agencies in an effort to identify additional victims.

The suspects were booked at Crescenta Valley Sheriff’s Station for Burglary and Receiving Stolen Property. Suspect Davis is being held on $1,000,000.00 bail and Suspect Jackson is being held on $20,000.00 bail.

Anyone having information regarding these burglaries is asked to contact the Crescenta Valley Sheriff’s Station at (818) 248-3464. Citizens are also being reminded to conceal their valuables if they must leave them in their vehicles while parked.

A 20-year-old man from La Cañada was arrested after a La Crescenta Ralphs market employee witnessed him walking out of the store with items not paid for.

According to the Crescenta Valley Sheriff’s Station report, the employee allegedly watched the man exit the store with items under his jacket. He followed the man into the parking lot and confronted him. The employee reportedly witnessed several packages of razors in his possession. The employee asked the man if he had forgotten to pay; the man replied that he had not. The discussion turned into a small scuffle and the employee grabbed the man, who in turn bit the employee’s hand. The employee detained the man until law enforcement arrived.

After an investigation the deputy arrested the man for stealing the items as well as suspicion of possession of two small balloons of heroin, Methocarbamo (a muscle relaxant), Dicyclomine Hydrochloride tablets (medication to relieve muscle spasm), Suboxone (can be used to treat opiate addiction), and Alprazolam (can be used to treat anxiety disorders).

He allegedly told deputies he had taken the razors to sell to his friends.

A witness reported seeing the interior light on in a vehicle parked in the 3500 block of Henrietta Avenue at 11 p.m. on March 5. He noticed someone moving around in the car, then saw a man later identified as Gene Pimental, 19, from Tujunga exit the vehicle and shut the driver’s side door.

Pimental then reportedly walked westbound on Henrietta toward Dunsmore Avenue. The suspect met with another man later identified as Bernardo Carrillo, 18, from Tujunga.

The two continued to walk westbound on Burritt Avenue to Lauderdale Avenue then south to Santa Carlotta where officers contacted them.

The two men were arrested for suspicion and conspiracy to commit burglary.

In the past weeks there has been an increase in vehicle burglaries in both the Glendale and La Crescenta areas. Police and sheriffs have warned residents not to leave valuables in the vehicles and to lock their doors. Residents were also asked to stay alert and report any suspicious behavior.

A 17-year-old girl and her 12-year-old brother, both from La Cañada, were arrested on Sunday for burglarizing vehicles in Montrose.

“Our station received a call concerning persons attempting to break into vehicles on Crescenta Avenue and Rockland Place in Montrose,” said Sgt. Ray Harley, Crescenta Valley Sheriff’s Station.

Deputies found the girl and her brother in the area. As the investigators were talking to the kids, a man drove up and said someone had gotten into his unlocked parked vehicle and stole a global positioning system, Harley said.

The girl allegedly said, “If I give it back will everything be OK?”

Deputies placed the girl in the back of the patrol vehicle. She apparently had the GPS on her person at the time. Deputies discovered the device under the seat in the back of the patrol vehicle. The GPS belonged to the man who reported it stolen.

The boy allegedly told deputies he acted as lookout for his sister as they went from vehicle to vehicle searching for unlocked doors, Harley said.

Both were arrested for grand theft and tampering with a vehicle. The girl was also arrested for being a minor in possession of prescription drugs that were not in her name and for tobacco products.

The girl was on probation
