So Cal Thunder (formerly La Crescenta Thunder 14U Girls Fastpitch Softball Team), a 16U travel team, participated in the Triple Crown Series (TCS) “Fall Classic” tournament on Sept. 15-16 at West Covina’s Big League of Dreams. After two days, 16 teams and seven games in 100-plus degree weather, So Cal Thunder finished second in a very competitive field.

This finish qualified So Cal Thunder for TCS Nationals/World Series in Park City, Utah July 15 through July 20, 2013.

This is a major accomplishment considering that So Cal Thunder has only been playing as a competitive travel ball team for approximately four months and were competing against teams that were established and nationally sponsored with players that have been playing together for years.
