CSA 12 & Under Competes for Championship

Togo’s & El Sol celebrate victories with a joint hat toss together. The Crescenta Sports Association 2011 Bronco 12 & Under Division championship game was held on Saturday, June 11 at Montrose Park.

The game pitted El Sol against Togo’s Baskin Robbins beginning at 6 p.m. but at a score of 16-6, El Sol mercied Togo’s Baskin Robbins to claim the division championship title.

Kirk McCreary pitched five powerful innings while Trey Ballard closed out the game for El Sol. Jonathan Frink and Michael Doud pitched for Togo’s and dazzled the batters with their constant barrage of off speed pitches and fastballs

Kirk and Trey, Dylan Archer, Jose Meir, Carter Walch and Harry Smythe, along with the rest of the team, had multiple hits that accumulated the 16 runs.

Ethan Walch, Brendan Adams and Ray Ramos made solid plays in the field while Duncan Smythe and Aaron Morales scored key runs to ensure a victory.

A key double play with bases loaded was made by McCreary, Archer and Walch which stopped Togo’s from scoring any more runs in an inning.

Archer had the walk off hit to score the final two runners on base to seal up the victory.
