The 53rd Annual Mt. SAC Relays Invitational was held April 14 to 16 on the Walnut campus. Taking to the field were college and high school athletes competing in traditional contests including hurdles, high jump, shot put, pole vault, triple jump, long hump and relay.

On Friday night it was a win for Arcadia’s 4×1600, setting the meet record (17.25). Anchoring leg was Arcadia’s Ammar Moussa who ran away with the last mile.

Taking the win for the girls was Saugus led by Alex Hampton, Danielle Zirbel, Kaylin Mahoney and Stephanie Bulder  (20:09.51) while the CV girls took 12th place (21:51.18).  CV’s team composed of Anneke Kakebeen, Claudia Pham, Cali King and Diane Lombardi.

On Saturday, Andrew Roide participated in the high jump, however he only cleared (6’0) while the Falcons distance medley Anneke Kakebeen, Diane Lombardi, Cali King and Tiernan Hebron placed eighth (12:36.50).

“We competed well at Mt. SAC,” said CV Coach Mark Evans. “Distance medley relay was the best we have run all season.  [We] got a chance to compete against some very good teams. This will help us the rest of the way in league, league finals and hopefully CIF competition.”
