New Prayer Service at St. Bede
St. Bede the Venerable Roman Catholic Church has started a new daily evening prayer service, Monday through Friday from 5:30 p.m. to 6:10 p.m. in the chapel. The service will include vespers, adoration of the Blessed Sacrament and the rosary. All are welcome to attend.

LCCRS Hosting “Radical Self-Forgiveness”
The Center for Spiritual Living – La Crescenta is hosting Radical Self-Forgiveness – The Direct Path to True Self-Acceptance. The four-week workshop is based on the book “Radical Self-Forgiveness” by Colin Tipping and will be facilitated at the Center by Sandi Davis, RScP and Laney Clevenger-White, RScP. The public is invited to join them for a thought-provoking and powerful approach to self-forgiveness.
The workshops take place on Sundays from noon to 2 p.m. on Aug. 14, 21 and 28.
The cost is a donation of $100 plus the cost of the textbook that will be available at a 20% discount in price.

St. Bede Hosts Grief Support Group

Dr. Gloria Lee, licensed marriage and family therapist and leader of the “Good Grief” program at St. Bede the Venerable Roman Catholic Church, will conduct a six-week program for those who have lost a loved one through death.
The group meetings begin Thursday, Sept. 15 and continue through Oct. 20 from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. The series includes information on the grieving process and an opportunity to share with others in small groups. Topics include “The Tasks and Process of Grieving,” “What is Good Grief vs. Bad Grief,” “Coping with Loneliness and Depression,” “Stress Management, Learning to Live Alone” and “Re-emerging into Life with Hope and Purpose.”
“Good Grief” is part of the bereavement/funeral ministry at St. Bede. To pre-register or for additional information, call (818) 949-4300. Participants are asked to bring a small photo of their loved one to the first session.
St. Bede’s also offers a monthly support group, “Beyond Good Grief,” which meets the third Wednesday of every month in the Parish Center from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

“Overcoming Barriers to Wholeness” Classes Continue
St. Luke’s Anglican Church continues its classes on “Overcoming Barriers to Wholeness: Physical, Emotional, Mental, and Spiritual” on Friday, Aug. 14 at 7 p.m. These classes, led by Rector Fr. Rob Holman, take place on the fourth Friday of every month at the offices of St. Luke’s Anglican Church, 3901 Foothill Blvd., second floor, La Crescenta. The monthly healing classes include music, teaching and healing prayer according to the Christian faith. Jesus loved to heal and St. Luke’s hope is to offer a healing touch to all who attend, including those suffering and seeking healing due to divorce or other relational issues.
