This Week at LCIF
All are invited to Lutheran Church in the Foothills on Sunday, May 6 at 10 a.m. for the sixth Sunday of Easter. The morning begins with the new Children’s Gathering at 9 a.m. that coincides with youth and adult book study. Following that, all will worship as a family when Pastor Scott Peterson preaches on the topic “Friend and Lover.”
Regular time of fellowship follows with coffee, donuts, and breakfast treats.

National Day of Prayer
Bethel Church in Sun Valley will observe National Day of Prayer on Thursday, May 3. The community is invited to join in one or more of the following events: 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. – individual commitments to pray for one designated hour during the day (prayer suggestions will be provided; phone the church (818) 767-4488 to designate the hour in which you commit to pray); 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m.– prayer gathering in the sanctuary; 7:30 p.m. – prayer service with group prayer, a meditation on prayer, and singing. Group prayer sessions will be bilingual – English/Spanish.

The Truth About Domestic Violence
The LAPD will present an interactive class on Sunday evening, May 20 from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Bethel Church for adults addressing the types of domestic violence and how to handle and react to such abuse. Officers will be on-site to answer questions about this critical issue. Childcare will be provided.
The LAPD talk will be preceded by a potluck supper at 6:15 p.m. All in the community are invited and welcome.
