Dec. 21

Angeles Crest Highway and Fairview Drive in La Cañada Flintridge, a 22-year-old Pasadena man was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol and suspicion of possession of a narcotic while driving at 8 p.m.

Foothill Boulevard and Angeles Crest Highway in La Cañada, a 25-year-old Chatsworth man was arrested for driving under the influence at 3:10 a.m.

Dec. 20

3100 block of Foothill Boulevard in La Crescenta, Crescenta Valley deputies responded to a possible burglary in progress call at Pyramid Sleep Shop. An employee reported as she opened the front door of the business she observed footprints on the front counter and a ceiling panel ajar. Deputies investigated and found the business was apparently entered and drawers were left open but nothing seemed to be missing. The incident occurred overnight.

5100 block of Crown Avenue in La Cañada, the taillight, rear quarter panel and rear hatch of a vehicle was damaged after someone threw a pumpkin at the car overnight.

Dec. 19

4200 Woodleigh Lane in La Cañada, the rear window and rear view mirror were broken and the windshield was cracked on a vehicle. A pumpkin was found in the front passenger seat with shards of glass stuck in it. The vehicle was parked in front of a residence overnight.

Dec. 17

2700 Altura Avenue in La Crescenta, after reviewing her bank statement a woman reported that checks she had written and left in her mailbox for U.S. Postal pick up had been forged. The check had someone else’s name listed as payee and the amount had been changed. She reported to the sheriff’s station at 12 p.m.

Dec. 16

300 block of Starlight Crest Drive in La Cañada, a laptop was stolen and several rooms were ransacked in a home between 1:30 p.m. and 3:30 p.m.

Dec. 15

4600 La Crescenta Avenue in La Crescenta, two televisions, a camera and laptop were stolen from a home. The home’s rear door was kicked in and several rooms were ransacked between 9 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.

4200 Beulah Drive in La Cañada, deputies responded to a burglar alarm at a residence and found a glass window panel smashed but nothing was stolen at 11 a.m.

2700 Mayfield Avenue in La Crescenta, a window was shattered on a vehicle overnight.

Dec. 14

3000 block of Foothill Boulevard in La Crescenta, the right front passenger door, right side slider door and right rear fender of a vehicle were vandalized with scratches while the car was parked in the Office Depot’s parking lot between 12:30 p.m. and 12:40 p.m.

200 block of Starlight Crest Drive in La Cañada, the driver’s side window was shattered and the side mirror was damaged on a vehicle between 8:30 a.m. and 12 p.m.

Dec. 13

1100 block of Olive Lane in La Cañada, several areas of a vehicle were vandalized by scratches between 4 p.m. and 9 p.m.

2300 Barton Lane in Montrose, two Craftsman drills were stolen from a garage. A resident reported he had been working in his garage and left the drills on the floor while he briefly went into his home. When he returned the drills were gone. A surveillance camera that was activated in the garage shows a male Hispanic between 20 and 25-years-old entering the garage, placing the drills in his backpack and exiting at 3 p.m.

Foothill Boulevard and Castle Road in La Cañada, a 47-year-old Sun Valley man was arrested for driving under the influence. A sheriff volunteer patrol officer witnessed the man in his vehicle driving slowly near the curb on Foothill Boulevard. The volunteer asked the man if he needed help and he said he had ran out of gas. He stopped his car and exited. The man was allegedly staggering down the sidewalk, and then attempted to cross the street at the intersection against the traffic light. A deputy that arrived at the time reported vehicles that were traveling legally with the green light almost hit the man. The deputy detained him and reportedly had to hold on to him to prevent him from falling. The man said he was not driving the car but his brother was and had left to get gas. The deputy performed a field sobriety test and found the man was over the legal limit. He also discovered the man had an outstanding warrant and had a suspended California driver’s license. The arrest was made at 12:06 a.m.

Dec. 12

Foothill Boulevard and Cloud Street in La Crescenta, a 48-year-old Los Angeles man was arrested for driving under the influence and suspicion of possession of a narcotic at 11:53 p.m.

2300 block of Foothill Boulevard, a 41-year-old La Crescenta man was arrested for driving under the influence after he was involved in a traffic collision. A deputy reported that he responded to the accident of a vehicle, which was parked on the eastbound side of Foothill Boulevard, that had severe body damage. The deputy witnessed the La Crescenta man getting out of the driver’s seat and began walking toward him. He allegedly smelled of alcohol. He was dazed and confused and did not know how he arrived at the location. The deputy found there was damage on the wall next to the curb, about 50 feet east of the damaged vehicle and the car’s side rear view mirror lying on the curb. The accident occurred at 2:50 a.m.

Dec. 11

Foothill Boulevard and Indiana Way in La Cañada, a 47-year-old La Cañada man was arrested for driving under the influence after deputies responded to a traffic collision. The deputy reported the man was attempting to walk away from the scene when he arrived. The vehicle was stopped on the eastbound lane of Foothill Boulevard just east of the crosswalk on Indiana Way blocking lanes. A field sobriety test resulted in the man being arrested at 4:27 a.m.
