The stabbing on Sunday night seems to be related to a domestic violence issue. The victim was estranged from her husband. The GPD consider the husband a suspect. The investigation is still “very active.”

Correction: William stated earlier the victim was in her 30s but she is 50.

A passerby in the 3700 block of Mayfield Avenue in La Crescenta today, Sunday, at 5:47 p.m. contacted Glendale Police Dept. after seeing a woman in distress on the street. When officers arrived they discovered a woman in her mid 30s on the street with stab wounds. She was transported to a local hospital in critical condition but the wounds do not appear to be life threatening.

When officers began to search the area it was discovered that the suspect was gone. The area has been contained while detectives continue their investigation. This is a very active crime scene said GPD officer Robert William. Anyone with information is asked to call (818) 548-4911.
