The National Weather Service has issued a red flag warning from 10 p.m. Tuesday to 6 p.m. Wednesday. Anyone within a quarter mile of the  Angeles Forest Wildland Urban Interface (known as the WUI) should do the following (in order of priority):

Clear the roadway of vehicles and trash bins allowing for maximum road clearance for emergency vehicles. If you have extra space, offer your neighbors a place for their car.

  • Top off your gas tank and back into parking space.
  • Check status of your Grab and Go Bag.
  • Check the status of your emergency equipment.
  • Update the info on your I.C.E. (In Case of Emergency) forms.
  • Check cash on hand.
  • Review emergency evacuation procedures with family members.

Roger Young of the CV Fire Safe Council advises that “the fire season is still upon us and requires our sensitivity to issues that will keep you and your property safe.”
