Crescenta Valley Water District crews continue to work on the broken water pipe at Pennsylvania and Community avenues as of 4:15 p.m. today.

“There was a two inch hole in an eight inch pump line,” said Christy Scott, CVWD spokeswoman.

The break was not a distribution line so it did not affect service to any CVWD customers.

Crews are working to remove and repair a five to six foot section of the pipe. Work is expected to be completed later this evening.

Crescenta Valley Water District crews are responding to calls of water bubbling up at the southeast corner of Community and Pennsylvania avenues that began around noon. A CVWD spokeswoman said the cause is uncertain. No CVWD customers are currently affected.
