4800 Castle Road in La Cañada, a resident reported that she drove up to her home and noticed a white hatchback vehicle parked on a nearby easement. She parked her vehicle in the driveway and went to the front door of the residence. As she opened the door she reported hearing a loud thumping coming from the rear of the home. She turned on some lights and walked toward the rear door to investigate the noise. She saw a man described as 20-to-25 years old, 6’ tall, weighing 180 to 195 lbs., wearing a black or dark blue hoody sweatshirt jacket, black baseball cap and khaki pants. There was a second man who appeared to be the same age, height and weight of the first man but was wearing a white T-shirt. The second man was standing next to the rear French doors.

After seeing the woman, both men immediately exited the French doors and ran around to the front of the home. The woman ran toward the front of the house and confronted the suspects. While standing on the driveway the first man jumped and kicked her in the chest area causing her to fall to the ground. Both men then entered a white vehicle that had been parked on the easement and drove out of view. The incident occurred at 9:10 p.m.

Montrose and La Crescenta avenues in La Crescenta, a 25-year-old Santa Monica man was arrested for receiving stolen property after a deputy noticed him smoking a cigarette. He appeared to be underage, therefore the deputy slowed to look at him and at that point the suspect placed a bag he was carrying on a nearby bus stop bench and stepped away, “as if to distance himself from the bag,” according to the report. The deputy asked the suspect how old he was; he stated he was 20. After an investigation, it was discovered the suspect had three outstanding warrants for his arrest and he was on probation for burglary. During a search of the suspect the deputy found 25 hygiene and beauty products bearing the Ralphs market label and all still in the original packaging. The suspect allegedly admitted to stealing the items.

He was arrested at 8:50 p.m.

La Crescenta and Community avenues in La Crescenta, a man was driving his vehicle, a 2013 Mercedes, northbound on the Glendale (2) freeway approaching Holly Street when a Volkswagen Jetta allegedly swerved in front of the Mercedes. The driver avoided the Jetta. When the driver of the Mercedes continued onto the Foothill (210) freeway the Jetta driver once again swerved in front of him. The Mercedes driver exited the freeway at La Crescenta Avenue and moved into the right lane to turn right. The Jetta driver, later identified as a 25-year-old Los Angeles man, drove up to next to the Mercedes and began yelling through the open car window. He told the Mercedes driver to pull over because they “needed to speak.”

The two drivers pulled their vehicles over at La Crescenta and Community avenues. The Jetta driver got out of his vehicle and began pounding on the Mercedes’ front window and driver’s side window. During the investigation it was discovered the Mercedes driver knew the Jetta driver but did not tell law enforcement exactly what the man was yelling about and could not tell them why he was so angry. An attempt was made to contact the Jetta driver but there was no answer. The incident occurred at 3:40 a.m.
