2300 block of Stonyvale Road in Tujunga, a 31-year-old Tujunga man was arrested for discharging a firearm in a negligent manner while under the influence of a controlled substance and being an ex-convict in possession of a firearm. Deputies responded to a report of shots fired in the residential area. When they arrived they discovered the suspect sitting in his vehicle. He reportedly asked the deputies why they were there; they told him and he allegedly admitted that he was the one that shot his .22 pistol. He further reportedly admitted that he shoots his gun in the same area all the time and that he was an “ex-convict” and knew he was not supposed to either shoot nor possess a firearm. At that point he also realized he was now in trouble.  He allegedly told the deputies where they could find the weapon, which they did along with several shell casings. Deputies reported the man appeared to be under the influence of a substance similar to methamphetamine. The man confirmed this suspicion as well when he allegedly admitted he had “smoked meth” an hour before they arrived. The incident occurred at 9:16 p.m.
