July 15
2500 block of Upper Terrace in La Crescenta, a 38-year-old transient was arrested for trespassing and public intoxication. Deputies responded to a call concerning trespassing and found the suspect sitting on a block wall at the driveway of the residence. He reportedly told the deputy he was there to help his friend move. The deputy had responded to the same location with the same trespassing issue the day before and knew that neither the suspect nor the former tenants were allowed to be there. The suspect insisted he was not leaving the property without the refrigerator, washer and dryer. The new homeowner reported that she had arrived at the home on July 14 and found the previous owners still moving their items. She said she told them to complete the move and she would return to take possession of the property the following day. She returned the next morning to find the former tenants still at the home. Once again she gave them more time with a deadline of noon. She returned at 2 p.m. to find the suspect allegedly passed out in the bathroom. She woke him up and he reportedly refused to leave and became belligerent. The deputy found the suspect to be “extremely intoxicated.” He was arrested at 2:30 p.m.
July 14
2700 block of Starfall Drive in La Crescenta, residents reported returning home to find the several rooms were ransacked and several purses and jewelry were stolen. It appeared the suspect/suspects entered the home by shattering the glass on the French doors located at the back of the home. A neighbor reported seeing an older model silver sedan with tinted windows driving through the cul-de-sac. The burglary occurred between 9 a.m. and 8:45 p.m.
July 12
2500 block of Los Amigos Street in La Crescenta, coins were stolen from an unlocked vehicle between noon and 4 p.m.
July 11
4400 block of Ocean View Boulevard in La Crescenta, a man reported that he suspected a health caregiver took cash from his mother’s purse. His mother is bedridden. He had placed money on this inside of a pocket but it was gone when he recently checked it. The health caregiver no longer works for the family but was in their employment when the money went missing between June 15 and July 11.
