Lowell Avenue in Glendale/La Crescenta, a driver parked his vehicle at the Park and Ride lot. A Glendale officer contacted the male driver, a 43-year-old Lake Balboa man, dressed in military clothes. There was an odor of marijuana emitting from the vehicle. After investigating, the officer discovered four knives, an ax, what appeared to be marijuana, medical survival kits, ammunition and a loaded rifle with a round in the chamber. It was also discovered the man had no military background and was on probation for a felony. He was arrested for being a convicted felon in possession of a firearm, possession of a concealed dirk or dagger and possession of a loaded firearm in public. The arrest occurred at 11:40 a.m.
La Cañada Crest Drive and Rockland Place in La Cañada, as a man was walking toward his vehicle that was parked at the location, a man walked up behind him and grabbed the cellphone from his hand and took off running. The victim said it happened very quickly. The suspect is described as 5’7″ to 5’9″ tall weighing 140 to 150 pounds, thin build, about 15 to 21 years old. At the time he was wearing a light colored hoodie. The robbery occurred at 5:30 a.m.
2300 block of Florencita Avenue in Montrose, a wallet with cash and personal information along with compact discs were stolen from a vehicle overnight.
