The Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office has released the name of a man who died after he lost control of his motorcycle on the Angeles Crest Highway.

On Sunday at 1:05 p.m. Everett Justin Howell, 35, from Fontana was riding his 2007 Honda motorcycle on the Angeles Crest Highway west of Cloudburst Summit. He was traveling at a high rate of speed and failed to negotiate a left hand turn in the roadway, said California Highway Patrol Officer Ming-Yang hsu.

Howell ran off the roadway onto a paved asphalt shoulder. The motorcycle went down on the pavement; Howell flew off the bike. Both bike and driver slid over a dirt berm and down a steep dirt embankment. The Fontana man was pronounced dead at the scene.

Another motorcycle accident occurred in the Big Tujunga area later that day. The driver reported minor injuries.
