Hit and Run at Ramsdell

By Mary O’KEEFE

A 13-year-old La Crescenta girl was the victim of a hit-and-run accident on Ramsdell Avenue just north of Foothill Boulevard on June 1 at 8:45 p.m.

The young girl was crossing east to west on Ramsdell Avenue about 400 feet north of Foothill Boulevard when a dark colored SUV driving southbound hit her. The driver did not stop, said California Highway Patrol Officer Ming-Yang hsu.

“She was crossing outside the crosswalk,” hsu said. “She did not have the right of way.”

However the driver left the scene of the accident, which is a felony hit and run.

There is very little lighting in that area of Ramsdell Avenue. The witness did not have any other information concerning the vehicle or driver.

The young teenager was transported to a local hospital.

Anyone who may have information concerning the accident is asked to contact the CHP Altadena office at (626) 296-8100.
