Paradise Canyon Elementary is on lockdown due to a bear sighting in the nearby neighborhoods.

The bear was first sighted in the 4900 block of Crown Avenue about 3 p.m.

KCal 9 News filmed residents, who were enjoying a poolside afternoon, hurry into their home when the bear jumped over a fence.

Los Angeles Sheriff’s deputies have responded as well as the Department of Fish and Game.

Sheriffs are advising people to stay in their homes but have not issued a reverse 911.
