Freshman Cheerleading Team Announced at CVHS
Crescenta Valley High School Cheer Team will continue to have a freshman team. For years, ninth graders had their own cheer team, however this year it had been announced that there would no longer be a freshman team.
Vickie Bouldin, a cheer mentor, approached Principal Michele Doll and suggested the freshman team stay intact due to the overwhelming popularity of the program.
“We want to do what the students want,” Doll said. If 100 students try out for 30 positions that would seem unfair, she added. The cheer at the high school is a popular and award winning program.
“Don’t Fence Me In…!” Fundraiser
A fundraiser is planned for MACH 1 (Move A Child Higher), a therapeutic horseback riding program offering equine assisted activities to disabled riders based at the Pasadena Equestrian Center in Hahamongna Watershed Park.
The annual horse show will be held on Saturday, June 9 at the Flintridge Riding Club, 4625 Oak Grove Dr., La Cañada. Attendance to the horse show from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. is free of charge and everyone is welcome to attend. There will be a silent auction starting at 2 p.m. Dinner will be provided by Captain BBQ, followed by the completion of the horse show.
Dinner tickets are $35 for adults and $15 for children. Music is provided by Fiddler’s Green.
