CVCA Meeting Planned
The Crescenta Valley Community Association meets tonight, Thursday, April 23 starting at 7 p.m. in the community room of the La Crescenta Library. Updates will be given on the 710 Extension DEIR and VHGC development and discussion will be held regarding the results of the recent election.

Golf Classic Supports Dignity Health Glendale Memorial Hospital
On Monday, April 27, the Dignity Health Glendale Memorial Hospital Foundation will host its 19th annual golf classic honoring prominent trial attorney Mark Geragos as Humanitarian of the Year.

The golf classic will take place at Oakmont Country Club and funds raised will go toward surgical suite updates. Three cars will serve as prizes for the three hole-in-one opportunities. Montrose Travel will also sponsor a hole-in-one prize, which includes a generous vacation package. Along with the golf tournament and barbecue lunch, there will be an evening program, which includes dinner and a silent auction.

Klemm to Lead Preserve Tour
The next docent-led tour of the Rosemont Preserve is on Saturday, April 25 from 9 a.m. to noon. It will be led by Roger Klemm and will focus on native plants on the Rosemont Preserve.

Klemm has been promoting conservation and environmentally sensible landscaping for over 20 years. He is involved with the eradication of invasive exotic plants in the Angeles National Forest and at the Rosemont Preserve, and is spearheading the renovation of a community entrance garden at Sunland Boulevard and the 210 Freeway in Sunland. Klemm has a wealth of real-life knowledge of native plants, both where and how they grow in the wild, and how they can grace our cultivated landscapes.

The Rosemont Preserve is located at the top of Rosemont Avenue in La Crescenta. Park at Two Strike Park, 5107 Rosemont Ave.

Health Fair Hosted by USC-VHH  
USC Verdugo Hills Hospital (USC-VHH), in collaboration with Glendale Healthy Kids, will hold a community health fair, “Your Health. Your Hospital.” on Saturday, May 2 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The fair will be held at USC-VHH, on the hospital’s fourth floor main lobby and patio area.

The event will feature free health screenings for adults and children, including cholesterol, glucose, vision, dental and scoliosis, as well as hands-on CPR training and hand hygiene techniques. Members of the community will also have a chance to meet members of local police and fire departments. For a complete list of booths and activities, visit
