On March 18,  the Glendale Police Dept. initiated an investigation into two men who were believed to be involved in sexually assaulting an unconscious woman. The two men, identified as 23-year-old Pedro Garcia of Glendale and 23-year-old Bryan Lizarraga Castillo of Lincoln Heights, have been arrested and detectives believe there could be additional victims.
On March 8, Garcia and Castillo were celebrating a friend’s birthday with a small group of people. The 22-year-old female victim in this case, who was a mutual friend, was among this group and was offered a drink in a plastic cup. Shortly thereafter, the victim was going to use an Uber ride home but Garcia and Castillo offered to give her a ride home instead. The victim entered Garcia’s vehicle and lost consciousness. She woke up the next morning inside of Garcia’s vehicle, dizzy and disoriented and called for an Uber ride home. Over the next several days, the victim discovered that the suspects had taken photos of her while she was unconscious inside Garcia’s vehicle. The photos showed her in various stages of undress. Some of the photos were posted on Facebook by the suspects.
Detectives have since found additional photos of Garcia and Castillo with another woman, who has yet to be identified, also appearing to be unconscious and posed provocatively.
Garcia and Castillo were both charged with one count of each sexual battery and sexual penetration by foreign object. Anyone with information is asked to call Glendale Police at (818) 548-4911.
