Global Samples at Tasting Bee
On Saturday, the Girl Scouts of CV/Glendale are holding their Annual Tasting Bee/World Thinking Day at Rosemont Middle School from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Taste exotic food from around the world while celebrating Girl Scouts World Thinking Day. Tickets are $0.50 each and there will be a silent auction and opportunity drawings. Proceeds benefit the CV/Glendale Service Unit and Juliette Low World Friendship Fund.

GLENDALE CITY COUNCIL COMING TO SPARR HEIGHTS
On Tuesday, March 31, the Glendale City Council will hold a special off-site meeting, “City Council in Your Neighborhood” at the Sparr Heights Community Center at
6 p.m. Discussions will include use of technology in community outreach, a report on the mayor’s challenge for safer people and safer streets program, infrastructure projects, Montrose vision 20/20, North Glendale open space and park improvement.

Sparr Heights Community Center is located at 1613 Glencoe Way, Glendale 91208.

Moving Mulch at Rosemont Preserve
The Rosemont Preserve trail needs some work! Volunteers are needed to move a pile of mulch on Saturday, March 28 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Wheel barrows and buckets – anything that can carry mulch – are also needed.

Those who plan to attend should wear sturdy shoes, comfortable work clothes and garden gloves (long pants and sleeves are recommended). Rain cancels.

The Preserve is located in La Crescenta at the north end of Rosemont Avenue, just past the chain link fence. Parking is available at Two Strike Park (5107 Rosemont Ave.).

Armenian Genocide Remembrances at GCC
A month-long series of events in remembrance of the 100-year anniversary of the Armenian Genocide will be held at Glendale Community College starting with a lecture today, Thursday, March 26.

“Women Suffering, Surviving and Succeeding During and After the Armenian Genocide” will be presented today, March 26 at 12:20 p.m. in Kreider Hall.

Other events include Armenian Culture Day on March 31 in the Student Center and a panel discussion, “Armenian Genocide in Literature,” on April 2.

Glendale Beautiful Hosts Awards Day
Glendale Beautiful is holding awards day on April 14 to honor commercial properties, multifamily residences and public projects with interesting landscaping and outdoor art. The presentations will be held at the Joe Bridges Clubhouse in Glenoaks Park. Damon’s catered lunch is $18. Doors open 11:30 a.m.; lunch is at noon.
