CV WEEKLY accident on Pennsylvania

UPDATE 6:33 PM.– A 67-year-old driver from Lancaster has succumbed to his injuries after a fatal car accident this afternoon on the Foothill (210) freeway.

The driver, David Kratz, was traveling westbound on the 210 freeway at about 12:50 p.m. today when, for an unknown reason, he veered his 2013 Chevy Malibu to the right, said California Highway Patrol Officer Kevin Denmon.

The car tumbled over the embankment. The vehicle rolled several times until finally landing upright on its wheels on the Pennsylvania Avenue westbound offramp.

“The driver sustained major injuries and was transported to Verdugo Hills Hospital by Glendale Fire Department,” Denmon said.

The man was pronounced dead at the hospital.

A juvenile, first reported as the driver, was in fact a passenger of the vehicle. He sustained moderate injuries and was transported to Children’s Hospital Los Angeles.

The cause of the solo vehicle accident is under investigation by the CHP. Anyone with information can contact the CHP Altadena office at (626) 296-8100.
