Pizza Night to Benefit
Prom Plus
CVHS Prom Plus is having a dining out fundraiser on Monday, March 3 at Straw Hat Pizza in La Crescenta. From 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., a percentage of purchases – up to 33.3% – will be donated to Prom Plus.

Straw Hat is located at 3463 Foothill Blvd. in La Crescenta.



USC VHH Offers CPR Classes
USC Verdugo Hills Hospital, an American Heart Association training center, offers cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) training classes to community members and health-care providers. The Heartsaver certification classes, which are part of the hospital’s family education program, provide instruction for CPR skills, including adult/child one-person rescue and choking maneuvers.

CPR classes are offered in the council room (located on the fourth floor lobby). The fee for the Heartsaver certification class (adult/child/infant) is $60 per person (includes textbook); and the fee for the infant CPR non-certification class is $35 per person.

LACoFD hosting
CERT Classes
The County of Los Angeles Fire Dept. firefighters is holding CERT – Community Emergency Response Training – classes that will teach residents how to prepare and respond in the event of a major disaster. Classes begin on March 15 and continue March 22 and March 29 at Los Angeles County Fire Dept. Camp 2. All classes are from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and attendance to all three classes is necessary for Certificate.

The course covers disaster preparedness, CERT organization, fire safety, disaster psychology, emergency medical operations, one victim triage, fire extinguisher safety, light search and rescue and terrorism.

You must pre-register for this class. There is no charge to attend. To register, log onto www.fire.lacounty.gov and click special programs or for more information, call (661) 287-3690. Space is limited.
