The City of La Cañada Flintridge was awarded a $123,500 grant from CalRecycle’s Rubberized Pavement Program for rubberized asphalt to be installed over the next three years as a part of the City’s annual street resurfacing program. Rubberized asphalt was pioneered by the City of Phoenix and is popular because of its high durability and ability to reduce road noise.
Upon receipt of funds, the City will begin construction on various streets throughout the City, including Woodleigh Lane. Over the next three years the City expects to install 12,350 tons of rubberized asphalt throughout the community.
The City of La Cañada Flintridge will keep residents informed of asphalt paving work throughout the community to minimize inconvenience associated with street closures and detours. Residents are encouraged to follow the City on social media for timely updates.
