The Burger King at 3517 Foothill Blvd. has closed its doors, apparently the owner was not able to extend the lease.
As reported in October, 2015 in the CV Weekly there had been rumors a Starbucks was planning to move into the location in February, 2016.

This does seem to follow a trend with Starbucks and established drive-through restaurants. The Burger King in Sunland is now a drive-through Starbucks.

When asked about this move in October Starbucks replied: “Starbucks is always looking for great locations to better meet the needs of our customers and we are continually evaluating our store portfolio. At this time, we remain focused on serving customers in Glendale at our existing stores and have no store-opening plans to announce,” stated a Starbucks spokesperson.

Starbucks had not replied as of press time.

Burger King has been at the location since the 1980s. The owner and management often invited local students to tour their restaurant and had been an active community supporter donating to many organizations.

I didn’t like Starbucks before. Much prefer Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf. Now I like Starbucks even less, MUCH less.
And I loved my Burger King. :-(
What goes to them next? Maybe the Carl’s Jr on Verdugo?? (That’s what I have heard.)

    There goes the neighborhood.

There’s a Starbucks at Boston and Foothill in the former McDonalds location.

A bit overkill, don’t you think?

I’m still mourning the demise of the Alta Dena (or was it Jessup) at this particular location.
