Yesterday, Jan 14, a 70-year-old very experienced male hiker went out for a hike on an extremely difficult trail at Deukmejian Wilderness Park. During the hike, he sent text messages at various times throughout the day indicating that he was having difficulty. He did not return home last night and the vehicle was located in the parking lot by the Glendale Police Department today.
The hiker ended up near Big Tujunga Canyon and found a citizen who drove the hiker back to Deukemejian Wilderness Park today at approximately 1:00pm. The hiker was not injured and walked the entire night.
GPD was on scene at Deukmejian Wilderness park when the hiker returned to his car.
