This Halloween, for the first time, the Crescenta Cañada and Tujunga YMCAs invited elementary school children to donate their extra candy to the troops. For every pound of candy they brought in, they received one raffle ticket for a chance to win a new bike.

Thanks to the help of Sunland Elementary School and Palm Crest Elementary School, about 1,000 pounds of candy was collected and four bicycles were given away. The collected candy was donated to Operation Gratitude, an organization that supports deployed troops.
