The homecoming game is tomorrow night for Crescenta Valley High School and as is the tradition, the school’s homecoming spirit assembly was held Friday morning in the school’s gym.
Led by the Associated Student Body who decorated the gym with an under the sea theme, the assembly was a enthusiastic introduction to the upcoming Spirit Week.
The assembly began with the Charismatics’ performance of the National Anthem while JROTC presented the Colors.
Then CVHS drum line got the students cheering as they performed center gym, so to speak. The school’s Advanced Dance performed as well and then cheerleaders got the crowd … well … cheering.
Cheerleading is a specialized skill, which was demonstrated by a few members of CVHS football team who attempted to take over the cheerleader duties. As cheerleaders, it should be noted that the boys are really good football players.
The homecoming court was introduced: freshman prince Brandon Caver, freshman princess Bekah Charters, sophomore prince Anthony Reyes, sophomore princess Ally Pehar, junior prince Connor van Ginkel, princess junior Elizabeth Hwang. There are three senior princes: Evan Boukidis, Evan Combs and Matt Ryan and three senior princesses: Nayoung Kim, Esther Park and Izabelle Dassian.
Spirit Week will continue with the Powder Puff Football and Bonfire Rally tonight at
5 p.m. at CVHS
